Drywall installers are responsible for erecting lightweight walls, doors and suspended ceilings. They are also called upon when it comes to paneling conference rooms or interiors.
What are the tasks?
As a drywall fitter, you install wall and ceiling systems to design the interiors of buildings. They take on tasks such as renovating and repairing drywall constructions, erecting, securing and clearing construction sites or installing prefabricated flooring constructions.
Thermal insulation and sound insulation are also part of the job.
What are the requirements?
The work as a drywall fitter is preceded by a three-year apprenticeship, for which a secondary school certificate is expected. In addition, drywall fitters should be physically fit, skilled and precise in their work.
