Carpenter (joiner) Shape wood

Carpenters (m/f/d) produce furniture, doors and windows as well as trade fair and shop fittings from wood and wood materials and carry out interior fittings. Mostly in the form of custom-made products.

What are the tasks?

Carpenters make cabinets, seating furniture, tables, windows, doors, stairs, trade fair and shop fittings and carry out interior fittings from wood and wood-based materials. In most cases, these are custom-made products. To do this, they process wood using a wide variety of machines (CNC, circular saw, planer, router or grinder), treat surfaces and screw or glue them into the desired objects. In preparation, they create drafts, floor plans, room sketches and technical drawings after receiving the order.

What are the requirements?

Since most of the products are custom-made, service orientation is important when advising customers. First and foremost, however, craftsmanship and a precise and careful way of working are required. You should also have creativity, enjoy designing and a sense of aesthetics. Knowledge of mathematics, physicsandchemistry is required forworkpiece dimensions, material costsand requirements, area and body calculations as well as for the selection and processing of materials
